Amazon is currently hiring full-time Customer Service Associates for its work from home virtual contact center. However, in order to be considered for this work from home position, you must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin,Virginia.

According to Amazon, "The ideal, work from home Amazonian is internet savvy and has technical aptitude when it comes to online tools and research. You will think outside the box, solve problems, answer questions, and resolve concerns presented by our Amazon customers."

The rate of pay for this position is $10.00 per hour. Amazon offers paid training, a bonus opportunity, and dedicated resources for its employees. In addition, Customer Service Associates will work an assigned schedule (which at times may include mandatory overtime). However, associates may not work more than 60 hours in any given week.

Featured Job: Online Test Rater

Work from home as a Test Rater for Educational Testing Service!

Educational Testing Service (ETS) is currently hiring qualified people to score and rate the TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) writing assessment. The TOEIC is a language proficiency test designed for people whose native language is not English. This test measures the everyday English skills of individuals working in an International environment.

As an approved TOEIC Rater, you will score written constructed responses from home for this program. Ultimately, you must successfully complete the required training sessions and become certified to score this assessment.

In order to work on this project, you must have a secure Internet connection, a reliable computer, and have a phone (mobile or landline) to make and receive calls while you are connected to the Internet. You must also hold a B.A. degree or higher from an accredited school. In addition, ETS states that they prefer raters with some experience teaching ESL (or similar courses) at the high school, college, or adult learning level.

Work Schedule (quoted directly from the job posting):

Raters are scheduled for four or eight hour scoring sessions. The available shifts are as follows:

Scoring Shifts: must be able to score at last one of the following shifts in its entirety. All times are in EST.

8:30a – 5:00p
8:30a – 12:30p
11:30a – 8:00p
11:30a – 3:30p
1:00p – 5:00p
4:00p – 8:00p

Scoring Days:

Writing: Predominantly Monday and Thursday; Sunday – Thursday during SP week, which is once per month

Pay Rate

The Pay Rate for this position is not listed in the job posting. However, based upon my own knowledge and personal experience working for this company, the hourly pay rate is probably between $13-$15 per hour. In addition, raters are paid for completing the required training and certification sessions.

Featured Job: Education Assessment Scorer

Work from home as an Education Assessment Scorer for Write Score!

Write Score is currently looking for 250-300 individuals to score writing assessments (essays) from home for several school districts. The academic scoring season runs from August through May. According to the job posting, work is fairly consistent but there is some fluctuation. If hired for this position, you will be considered an independent contractor for this company. The rate of pay for this position is between $8.00-$15.00 per hour.

About the position....

This scoring position is completely home-based, and you will work remotely from your home using your own computer and high speed internet service. All Assessment Scorers will participate in a required evaluation period for this project. You must successfully complete the evaluation period in order to work on this scoring project. Write Score states "scorers will be required to read individual essays and assign independent scores that accurately describe those attributes of the essay."
