Educational Testing Service (ETS) is currently hiring individuals to score the Redesigned SAT Essay from home. As a Redesigned SAT Rater, you will read and score student essays by using an established rubric to ensure you apply scores accurately and consistently. All Raters will receive extensive training and preparation in order to succeed in this position.
I have worked as a Test Rater for ETS since 2014, and I enjoy doing this type of work. Although, I have not personally worked on this particular project, I guarantee that ETS is a legitimate and reputable company.
What are the requirements?
For this particular project, you must have a Bachelor's degree in any field (humanities preferred). You must also be eligible to work in the United States. In addition, you must have the appropriate computer equipment and software in order to successfully score essays from home (see link at the bottom of the page for more details).
What is the work schedule?
ETS offers both part-time and full-time schedules for this position (including weekday, weekend, and evening shifts). You may choose to work 4, 6, or 8 hour shifts (based upon your availability).
What is the pay rate?
The pay rate for this position is $15/hour. All raters are hired as employees, and the appropriate taxes will be deducted from your pay.
Raters are paid every two weeks (on Fridays) via direct deposit into your bank account. Other payment options might be available but direct deposit appears to be the preference. In addition, Raters are paid for completing the appropriate training and certification sessions.
